Wordpress, custom code, plugins & API's

Build a custom Wordpress plugin to add course booking with multiple courses / locations and pricing.

Training / Education

This project required two components of custom code firstly a custom built Wordpress plugin that could deliver a calendar which we built using JavaScript that would show all course bookings by location and course type. New courses and locations could be added using our software that would show both within the admin area and the front end of the site. Being a Wordpress site we followed best practice methods from the Wordpress codex. In addition to the original brief we built an automated course date booker which would take user selections and allocate future dates for courses.

The front end of the site would query the course data dependant upon user selection showing all available courses and locations. As well as custom scripting the Wordpress functions we created custom functions for Woo commerce and custom javaScript to manage the course selection data from initial selection through to payment.

Connect the website to an Industry API to collect and display products and process orders.

Packaging

Using the Laravel framework we built a custom library class to process requests to and from an industry standard API. This would permit the website user to select products through a selection process and add selected products to their basket for checkout completion. Most of the heavy lifting on the front end of the side was coded using javaScript and AJAX calls.

Build a custom section that allows for profiles to be added and displayed on the main website.

Solicitors / Law

Creating additional modules to an existing CMS custom code was developed using a mix of PHP and javaScript to create a profile handling section to the admin area. Allowing for the entry of multiple fields and images that would be saved to the data store.

The public facing site would process custom templates to draw down the queried data and format to the specification. Responsive styling and features where built into the templates to produce a great look whether mobile, tablet or desktop viewing.

A portfolio that can be filtered using animation

Architecture

Showing a portfolio in the best possible way is crucial to portraying your image and something we have worked on many times. Using Javascript with a combination of animation effects we delivered a responsive and dynamic portfolio that could be filtered using selection techniques. The data and images are delivered from a data store maintained by the client through their admin area.

New website

Graphic Design

An experienced Graphic Design business approached us to build their new website, they supplied all the visuals and left us to do the rest. They asked for Wordpress as a requirement so we set about installing a bare bones version for them taking their supplied visuals and custom building the Wordpress templates. We used responsive styling to ensure that the build would perform and look good on mobile as well as other devices.

Our methodology was to build each block as a custom block that would allow the client to add and create new pages using the custom blocks going forward. The project ran through a timeline of regular updates and discussions to ensure expectation was met at each stage finishing with browser & device testing then the launch of the new site with submits to search engines.
